MBPhil officially inaugurates its new corporate office
Last September 19, 2008, the Board of Directors, officers and staff of MBPhil, led the official inauguration of the new MBPhil Corporate Office in Makati City. The event was well attended by clients and partners of MBPhil, including representatives from the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP) and USAID’s Microfinance Access to Banking Services (MABS) project.
The proceedings opened with the solemn invocation rendered by Director and Treasurer Nonie Deato. Chief Operation Officer Eloisa Ramos started the program by welcoming the guests before President Romy Tumalad recounted the formation, start-up stage and growth of MBPhil. “The organization grew and expanded through the years, both in number of personnel and in technical capabilities, as well as in client base and geographical reach.” He further noted that “the benchmark performance of MBPhil came when it developed the windows based core banking application MBv8 which it is now propagating.”
Chairman Senen Glorioso, in his speech, looked ahead to the future with the new technology and business models that would efficiently deliver MBPhil client’s mission to mobilize deposit generation and credit services to its end-customers throughout the countryside. “The maturity of technology and reduced acquisition costs of technology now allow small financial institutions the opportunity to acquire tools that enhance and increase market competitiveness.”
The event also staged MBPhil’s latest product offering, the “MBv8 Inter-Branch Transaction System”. Director and Chief Technology Officer Ferdi Quizon presented the essential features of the new product which was then followed by a product demonstration by Carlos Rivera, Head of Systems Development group.
Guests got their chance to view and experience the MBv8 showroom containing the data center and a two-branch simulation set-up, where one branch has its own Automated Teller Machine (ATM). MBv8 with its functions and features, particularly its inter-branch transaction capability and ATM interface, can be demonstrated in this showroom facility.
And of course, who can forget the elegantly prepared cocktail drinks and the sumptuous dishes that compliment the drinks. Congratulations MBPhil!
