Never Ending Demand for Reports

Since the dawn of time or better known as the start of the Information Age, knowledge has driven the desires of everybody. Knowledge as viewed in the computer monitor as well as in printed form. It is in the presentation of this knowledge that so many experts cannot agree, or maybe there are too many experts :).

As the adage goes “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder” so it has become that the output should be arranged, presented and formatted according to the consumer of information.

Take a simple financial statement like a balance sheet, there are major categories of assets, liabilities and equity. But under the major categories the differences begin. For a set of standard institutions like banks, various information is added or removed. There are differences in the columnar arrangement, there are differences in the underlines, there are differences in the font. Microsoft Word and Excel have become a boom or bane depending on the point of view.

We are living in a world where the report consumer can dictate the terms of engagement. Where the consumer has the power to create a picture according to their likeness. Using various tools which are widely available an imprint can be created which shows the guiding hand of the author.

It is in this reality that MBPhil dwells in. To handle different scenarios we have formulated several strategies. Modification for individual clients is always an option. We can always produce the required information how they want it, when they want it and where they want it. But in the end valueable resources will be expended on trivial matters.

Another strategy is that we have developed a special modue that would provide a more generalized and logical solution to the demands for information. This new module will give clients a sense of freedom tempered with built-in controls. Freedom to make the changes according to defined requirements and controls to make sure that there is not enough rope to hang themselves.
